Abstract

In the recent years we have seen a fresh wave of areas of innovation emerging globally. These AOIs expand on the concept of the science park and university environments and aim to create sustainable and effective working and living conditions, forming appealing urban ecosystems for students, scientists, entrepreneurs, larger corporations, investors and startups.

Bringing the examples and insight from the international arena, the presentation will focus on how areas of innovation are formed and managed. The internal and external connectivity to the wide scope of interest groups with the various elements of areas of innovation are discussed, accompanied by practical managerial outcomes.
