Brief Bio
Matthias Jarke is professor of information systems at RWTH Aachen Universities and Director of the Fraunhofer FIT Institute for Applied IT at Birlinghoven Castle, Germany. After studying  business administration and computer science, and receiving a doctorate in Business Informatics from the University of Hamburg, he served on the faculties of Stern School of Business, New York University, and the University of Passau, prior to joining RWTH Aachen in 1991. From 2010-2015, he was part of the Fraunhofer Presidential Board with responsibility for the 19 ICT institutes in Fraunhofer.Matthias Jarke’s main research are a has been metadata management for applications in business, culture, and engineering. He is currently co-speaker of the national interdisciplinary excellence cluster “Internet of Production” at RWTH Aachen, co-initiator of the Fraunhofer-led International Data Spaces Initiative, and co-founder of the Fraunhofer Center on Digital Energy. He has served as Editor of leading journals, and Program Chair of almost all leading database and IS conferences. As president of the GI German Informatis Society, he was scientific coordinator of the first national “Informatics Year” during which Chancellor Merkel started her series of Annual IT Summits. Markus Helfert

Markus Helfert is a Professor at Maynooth University, Innovation Value Institute (Ireland) and the Director of the Business Informatics Group at Maynooth University. He is a Principle Investigator at Lero – The Irish Software Research Centre and at the Adapt Research Centre. His research is centred on Digital Service Innovation, Smart Cities and IoT based Smart Environments and includes research areas such as Service Innovation, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Smart Services, Building Information Management, FinTech, Data Value, Enterprise Architecture, Technology Adoption, Analytics, Business Process Managem ent. Prof. Helfert is an expert in Data Governance Standards and is involved in European Standardisation initiatives. He advises small and medium sized Enterprise in relation to Innovation and IT Management. Helfert has received national and international grants from agencies such as European Union (FP7; H2020), Science Foundation Ireland and Enterprise Ireland, was project coordinator on EU projects, and is the Project coordinator of the H2020 Projects: PERFORM on Digital Retail. ... Cornel Klein is Research Program Manager within the Technology Field “Software and Systems Innovation” of Siemens Corporate Technology in Munich. He is current leading a corporate research program on validation and engineering of intelligent and autonomous systems. Starting his career 1998 at Siemens Public Networks, he held several leading and expert positions within the company and also represented Siemens in external partnerships like ITEA, ARTEMIS/ECSEL and SPES. He has gained an extensive knowledge in communications, cyber-physical and embedded systems, software- and systems engineering as well as in various application domains like automotive, mobility and smart cities/smart buildings.
